Mujeres en la Casa
Mother, muses and witches
All throughout history women have been the main subject in many artistic expressions, and that comes as no surprise. Their creative energy and their ability to give life will always counterbalance the mystical and the mundane.
Mujeres la Casa is a male homage to them, the ones who are guilty of our existence, of our wanderings and our bumps in the road, our triumphs, and failures. Three mural artists bring into Casa de Teatro their paintings in formats larger that their admiration for the women in their lives.
Mothers, daughters, friends, close enemies and why not, that feminine side present in every man; play along between the delicate and sensuous lines in the works of Willy Gómez, Eddaviel (Edison Montero), and Alexis Oviedo (Leks). Intensity and delicacy fuse together in this exhibition in the same way they do in every one of those wonderful women that inspire us and leave indelible marks in our minds. After all, muses are the daughters of absolute power (Zeus) and memory (Mnemosyne).
