In the world of Dominican cuisine, Rosa María Gómez, “La Chefa”, is a multi-faceted talent, renowned as a chef, cookbook author, and culinary educator. Her cookbook, “La Nueva Cocina Dominicana de La Chefa,” published by Santillana, earned the prestigious Gourmand Books Award in 2014.

In addition to her culinary achievements, Rosa is the President of the Asociación Gastronómica de Santo Domingo (AGSD) and serves as the Director Ched at the Centro Cultural Gastronómico Casa Caribe. She has been an integral part of the Dominican culinary scene, judging and participating in major gastronomic events, both nationally and internationally, including the “7 Chefs / 7 Platos” event in Madrid, Spain, in 2016.

Rosa had decided on using her nickname “La Chefa”, which is an informal way for turning the word chef into a feminine noun, and she wanted a branding that represented her bubbly personality with a sense of Dominican identity and a Caribbean flair, so we opted for a design that showcased her, wearing the Dominican Republic´s national flower, The Bayahibe Rose, on her hair.
