Psicografía

The ways of the psyche

The human mind, from a behavioral aspect, is possibly one of the largest territories still to be explored. Even after great efforts and countless studies from both the psychological and psychiatric fields, we have just been able to understand a part of that mysterious world that is our psyche.

Psicografía deals precisely with that exploration and it does so through two routs, two techniques, two distinct visions by one artist that presents us with a kind of makeshift map of the human being and mind, and it’s relations with the world. As a starting point, the enneagram, a tool for the study and classification of personalities that consists of nine archetypes and their traits. On that journey we have on one side, the ego, that which one desires to be and willingly projects outwards; and on the other hand, panic, that irrational fear that paralyzes us and that we willingly hide from the world.

Psicografía is Franz Caba’s first solo exhibition where he uses drawing and painting as vehicles on two paths filled with symbolism, that are meant to be an adventure of self-exploration and an interpretation of human beings, what motivates them and what holds them back.
